Friday, July 17,
Dear Gracepointe Family,
This morning I became aware that a few people who attend Gracepointe have been exposed to someone who has tested positive with COVID-19. I have spoken with our district superintendent, Rev. Kyle Poole, who supports my decision for Gracepointe not to meet for corporate worship for the next two weeks.
Rev. Poole wanted me to share the following with you:
First, let me express how much I appreciate our Pastors and church leaders who are working so hard during this strange and stressful pandemic season. You are loved and prayed for often!
Besides following all laws and health and safety guidelines for gatherings, I would suggest the following:
- If anyone who regularly attends church (especially in any leadership role) tests positive for COVID-19, or has known exposure to COVID-19, I suggest that the church not gather together physically for at least two weeks. This gives time for more COVID-19 testing to be conducted, those who tested positive to quarantine, and to re-santize all church facilities before regathering.
- Any legal regathering is a local Church Board decision. In the meantime, please keep live-streaming all services and groups/ministries so people can stay connected.
I love you and all the leaders at Gracepointe! Please stay safe and healthy and keep serving well.
Feel free to contact me as needed.
Lots of love and prayers coming your way!
This decision is not a hard one to make. This is for the protection of all of our people and too use extreme caution during this time. These are days unlike any we have ever encountered. I continue to appreciate your ongoing understanding and prayers.
We will continue with streaming our Sunday Morning service at 11am with Facebook Live for both Sundays, July 19 and July 26.
Our next scheduled gathering for corporate worship at Gracepointe is for Sunday, August 2 at 9am & 11am with our friend, Brian Arner in concert.
We will continue to be in touch with you as we draw closer to the August 2 date.
You are loved and prayed for ~
